About me

Dr. Jake Jacobson was born and raised in Charleston, SC. Growing up in a family full of animal lovers and a house full of pets, he knew from an early age that he wanted to become a veterinarian. After attending Clemson University for his undergraduate degree, he moved to Athens to obtain his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Georgia. He then completed an internship at Colorado State University followed by additional cardiology training in Tampa at Florida Veterinary Specialists. His education continued with a 3-year cardiology residency at the Animal Medical Center in New York City. Dr. Jacobson is a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine – Cardiology Specialty (DACVIM, Cardiology).

His main goal is to care for your pet as he would his own, treat you as he would his family, and work with your veterinarian as his partner. Outside of work, Dr. Jacobson likes to take advantage of the ever-growing cultural and recreational activities the Lowcountry has to offer. Having seen Charleston grow over the past 35 years, he’s proud to be a part of this great community.
